Golconda Fort Hyderabad Sightseeing

Golconda is one of the famour forts of India. Founded originally by the Kakatiyas in the 13th century. The existing structure was expanded by the Qutb Shahi Kings into a massive granite structure with walls and ramparts extending some 7km in circumference. The Kohinoor Diamond, the Hope Diamond and the Orloff diamond are said to have come from here. The fort is famous for its acoustics, palaces and ingenious water supply.
